After a week off for Passover (and after eating entirely too much food), everybody on Sunday was raring to go - and it showed by all the inspired baseball! The kindergartners, first, and second graders were initially coached by Coach Ira on some baseball fundamentals, then proceeded to play their games. The third, fourth, and fifth graders warmed up by taking turns hitting (and playing the field when not hitting), then proceeded to break up into teams and play a game. Coach John, who once was drafted by the Washington Nationals and played in their minor leagues, pitched overhand to all. The greatest feeling is watching the skills of all the players improve as the season progresses. Some of the players even "flashed some leather" - by turning some really fine defensive plays.
